So, as anyone who knows me knows, I'm addicted to tv. tropes. Sometimes I have an idea but I try to see if I can find it and see how it's been done in the past. However, sometimes I can't seem to find a trope, whether it's because I don't have the right name to find it or, shockingly, it seems it doesn't happen enough to have it's own page. So I come to you my friends to see if you have any examples of what I'm looking for.
The idea I'm looking for is a villain, someone who's had a long career of crimes or other nastiness and, after some punishment, decides to just give up the whole good vs. evil game. I've found several tropes that have elements of what I'm looking for, but not quite. Heel Face Turn is when a bad guy decides to go good, which often ties in with The Atoner who constantly does good deeds never expecting them to fully exonerate him of his past crimes. Chronic Villain Syndrome is when the villain tries to give up the life of crime but finds that for whatever reason they just can't resist the urge. Civilian Villain happens when a bad guy pretends to be a reformed law-abiding citizen but is really up to his old tricks behind the scenes. Reformed But Rejected involves a villain who tries to do good but suspicion or grudges from others don't allow them to do so, which can also tie into Then Let Me Be Evil when they decide the ridicule and distrust isn't worth it so they decide to go bad again. Redemption Failure is when a villain who turned good and is trying to live a good life is forced back into villainy by forces beyond their control.
So as you can see there are plenty about bad guys who turn good, bad guys who try to turn good, and bad guys who pretend to turn good. But I've yet to find one where a bad guy turns neutral. I.E., the villain gets incarcerated, does there time, and once they get out decides "I quit." They don't become a hero, they don't return to their evil ways, they just say "I'm not playing the game anymore."
Any examples anybody?
Getting back in the groove (Audience suggestions)
So as you can tell I haven't written anything in a while. Life has been difficult lately, and every time I try to write I get distracted or lose interest. I don't want to let you guys down though, but I can't seem to get the motivation, at least for the stories I already have. I have so many new ideas but I don't want to work on them until I get some other things finished or at least progress them more.
But now I'm thinking maybe if I work on something that doesn't matter it might get me back in the groove. So one idea I had is the Student Six reacting to human music. Since that obviously would have no end and no structure I wouldn't be pres
I have a Patreon!
Just so you guys know I have a Patreon that I'm using to support myself a bit between jobs. Here's an overview on how I'm running it. Oh, and here's the link.
Those who want to donate just $1 a month, great. I thank you. Those who want to donate $3 a month will have access to Google Docs pages where I am writing my fan fictions and will be able to comment, not edit, the content.
I'll be releasing polls on which ones you would like to see me focus on next. I say "focus" because I'm likely not going to working exclusively on that chapter. New polls will be released when the voted on chapter is finished, which I'm going to try to do once a mon
Update (Been A long time)
Ok, so been a while, so let me update you on a few things. First, working on the next installments of Ponies watch RvB and EG watch Death Battle right now. In case you don't know I'm going to have the points react to Jojo's Bizarre Adventure as well and the EG react to Camp Camp. I was thinking of starting Jojo's after the ponies reach either the end of the second season or the end of the fourth season (you guys can help me decide which). As for Camp Camp, I figured the Girls would watch it after season 1.
Now I know what you're going to say next, "what about RWBY." All I can say is "eventually". But I was also thinking of having the CMC do

Or maybe "Punch Clock Villain", combined with "Heel Face Door Slam", so "Heel Face Door Stuck".Also, maybe "Put on a Bus". I don't think a bad-to-neutral trope really exists as it just doesn't happen
